As an urban dweller of the great city of Indianapolis, I became interested in gardening several years ago. I grew herbs and flowers on my apartment deck until we moved to a rented house just outside of downtown Indianapolis. I am married and teach at a private school here in town-which I love. My job allows me to teach and garden during different times of the year.
About a year into our marriage, my husband was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and I was on the quest for healthy and gluten free foods. I was inspired by the local food and sustainable living movements and try to incorporate those into my life as much as possible. After spending months reading labels of food, I got sick of not knowing what was in my food and where it had been. So, we decided to grow and put away as much as we could on our own.
I am taking on the adventures of a larger garden and chickens and wanted to share the journey. I love to sew, crochet, drink tea and read but mostly I love spending time with my handsome hubby.
